Samsung notes in the changelog for the Galaxy Buds+ and Galaxy Buds Live that this feature will only work when the buds are connected to smartphones running Android 7.0 Nougat and higher. The changelog for the Galaxy Buds Pro doesn’t mention anything as such. Additionally, the company is promising stability and performance improvements for all three models. It’s a generic pointer in the changelog for every software update for Samsung’s wearables though.
Galaxy Buds+, Galaxy Buds Live, and Galaxy Buds Pro get a new software update
Samsung launched the Galaxy Buds+ alongside the Galaxy S20 series in early 2020. The Galaxy Buds Live followed later that year. They were the Korean brand’s first TWS offering to feature ANC (active noise cancelation). The Galaxy Buds Pro, meanwhile, is (kind of) a combination of the two preceding models. They combine the bests of the two and are easily Samsung’s highest-end TWS earbuds ever. All of these are now receiving a new software update from Samsung. The latest update for the Galaxy Buds+, Galaxy Buds Live, and the Galaxy Buds Pro is currently available to users in South Korea only. But that’s not unusual. The Korean company tends to release new updates for its devices in its home country first before making them available worldwide. And that’s more true for wearable products such as earbuds and smartwatches. So Galaxy Buds+, Buds Live, and Buds Pro users in other countries can also look forward to this update in the coming days. In South Korea, the update is rolling out with firmware version R175XXU0AUK1 for Galaxy Buds+, R180XXU0AUK1 for Galaxy Buds Live, and R190XXU0AUK1 for Galaxy Buds Pro. The new software package weighs 1.42MB, 2.20MB, and 2.23MB for the three models respectively.
